Kimberley Climate

Dry Season (May - October) In the dry season, south easterly breezes bring sunny days and cool nights. Temperatures can vary from 15-35 °C (59 °F to 95 °F) although some parts of the Kimberley can drop below 0 °C in the evening (32 °F) including Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles).

Wet Season (November - April) Wet season is also the hottest part of the year especially November before the rains break, when temperatures frequently reach well over 40 °C (104 °F) inland. The rainfall is unpredictable and heavy at times with high humidity in the air. Rainfall is a welcoming sight to help rejuvenate vegetation along with flora and fauna while bringing the waterfalls to life.

Further south and coastal regions are typically dry but as we are in either Autumn or Spring depending on departures, there could be showers, particularly south of Kalbarri. Daytime temperatures in Perth in April should be a maximum of around 26 °C while August maximums around 23 °C. Minimum temperatures at night could drop to 7-8 °C .

Wet Season (November - April) Wet season is also the hottest part of the year especially November before the rains break, firstly you will feel the humidity set in, and the minimum temperature rises. Temperatures can vary from a minimum of 25 °C (77 °F) overnight, whilst a maximum remains similar to the Dry season at 35 °C (91 °F) but humidity rises to 80%.

South West Climate
