Information you need to know…

The practical details — payments, cancellations, insurance and accessibility — so you can book your outback adventure with confidence.

Payments

A 20% deposit is due within 7 days of making your booking. The balance is due 60 days before departure. If your booking is made within 60 days of departure, the total cost is due within 3 days of booking and must be in our account prior to departure.

Your confirmation email includes payment options — direct electronic transfer or credit card. When paying please include your booking number as the payment reference. Credit card payments attract merchant fees: Visa/Mastercard 1.5%, American Express 1.8%, Diners Club 2.5% and International Cards 3.3%. These fees are subject to change without notice.

Cancellations

If you cancel your booking the following costs will be incurred depending on the notice given before departure. Notice must be received by us in writing.

Itineraries

Outback travel requires a sense of adventure and we sometimes need to expect the unexpected. Many places Kimberley Outback Tours takes you are very remote, where access and service can be unreliable and accommodation options are limited. As a result, our itineraries may vary slightly from what is advertised. We don't want you to worry about this — there is so much to see that any changes won't stop you having a fantastic time, and your comfort is the top priority.

Insurance

Kimberley Outback Tours requires you obtain comprehensive travel insurance once you have booked with us. We travel in very remote areas, so you should be covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation (not available for Australian residents). A wide range of events could result in the tour being cancelled or major itinerary disruptions, so it's important your insurance covers this — anything from personal illness and travel delays to natural disasters or authority enforcements. Please ensure you have travel insurance in place when it is 90 days before departure. From this point on you will not be refunded money paid per our cancellation terms.

Weight restrictions

Please be aware that some activities are operated by third parties and may have weight restrictions. Horizontal Falls Sea Plane Adventures has a maximum allowable weight of 120kg. If a passenger is over this weight, they will not be allowed to board the seaplane or take part in any of the associated activities. No refund will be available and any additional costs (including meals and accommodation in Derby if an overnight stay at Talbot Bay is part of the itinerary) will be at the passenger's expense.

Accessibility & health

Due to the nature of our tours, activities and the remote locations we visit, we have very limited ability to cater for people with mobility issues, limited hearing, limited eyesight or dementia (and similar conditions).

We do not cater to passengers with wheelchairs or requiring the use of walking frames. If you have limited mobility, at a minimum you must be able to climb 4 steep steps quickly when accessing the coach and accept you will have to sit out numerous activities. We do not cater to passengers with limited eyesight or hearing, or to people with dementia or similar conditions.

Unfortunately the activities and terrain we traverse would put individuals with such conditions at serious risk and would likely compromise the tour and other guests' experience.
