Traveling the legendary Gibb River Road, stop at pristine waterholes for a refreshing swim as you reach the heart of the Kimberley. Experience a breathtaking scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago, followed by an exhilarating cruise through Horizontal Falls, where you’ll spend the night in the stunning surroundings of Talbot Bay. Finally, your adventure concludes in Broome, where you can unwind on the iconic shores of Cable Beach. Detailed Itinerary

Top End and Kimberley Delights - 14 Nights | Darwin to Broome

  • We meet together for a welcome drink and dinner at our accommodation restaurant. You will meet your crew and fellow passengers and prepare for a memorable adventure ahead.

    En-suited Hotel Room - Hilton Garden Inn, Darwin (D)

  • We depart on the Stuart Highway and head towards Litchfield National Park via Batchelor and into Litchfield National Park.

    We visit the magnetic termite mounds all standing grand and facing east / west. Next stop is Florence Falls standing at 64 metres. A walk to the base of the falls earns you a well deserved swim!

    Wangi Falls is our next beautiful spot, with a short walk to the swimming hole with the rocks and amazing cascading waterfalls.

    After exploring this magnificent park, we head to Kakadu National Park on the Arnhem Highway. We cross two major rivers systems of the area; South Alligator River & Mary River along with the township of Jabiru.

    We have a two night stop in the National Park, close to a billabong with an abundance of birdlife.

  • Exploring the World Heritage Listed National Park. We continue to see the different habitats.

    A visit to Cahill’s Crossing is the border of Arnhem Land a great place to spot for a croc!

    Other places of interest during the day will include Ubirr, Noulangie Art Site and Warradjan Cultural Centre.

    Finishing our day with a relaxing wildlife sunset cruise on Yellow Water Billabong, we return to our accommodation for a meal using local produce.

  • Departing Kakadu National Park, we take the Kakadu Highway to Pine Creek; known for its historic gold mining.

    We make a stop at Leliyn (Edith Falls) in Nitmiluk National Park for a walk, refreshing swim and admiring the beauty of the waterfall.

    We head deeper into the National Park for an informative cruise on Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) before settling into our town accommodation for the evening.

  • We farewell the Northern Territory, adjust our clocks and welcome Western Australia.

    Passing through cattle country, Victoria River and Timber Creek before settling into our Kununurra resort for a 3 night stay.

  • Enjoy some free time in town, before taking a scenic boat cruise on the Ord River and viewing Lake Argyle. This ecosystem is home to an abundance of bird life with over 300 species in the Kimberley. You will also spot freshwater crocodiles. We will learn about the history and making of Ord River Irrigation system.

    We stop at the Durack Homestead to learn about the history of the family before returning to Kununurra.

  • Today is a highlight of the tour with a scenic flight over Lake Argyle and the world famous Bungle Bungles.

    You will land in World Heritage Area Purnululu National Park, before embarking on a guided walk through the bee hive domes and into Cathedral Gorge.

    After a busy day you will again take a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles, the former Argyle Diamond mine and landing back in Kununurra.

  • Today we will leave Kununurra and set off early to El Questro. We will bath beneath palm trees in the warm waters Zebedee Springs before making our way to the El Questro Station.

    After lunch, the adventurous will hike into Emma Gorge. This challenging walk is worth the effort with a swim awaiting beneath a 65m droplet waterfall.

  • We make an early start to cross the Pentecost River and make away through the heart of the Kimberley along the Gibb River Road.

    This iconic road will see us pass from the East Kimberley to the West Kimberley, through rugged cattle country with breathtaking views. We will make numerous stops including a short walk and swim at Galvan’s Gorge.

    We arrive in the afternoon at the quintessential oasis of Mt Hart Wilderness Retreat for our 2 night stay.

    We return back to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge for a relaxing evening.

  • Today is a day of exploring Dalmanyi (Bell Gorge) in the Wunaamin Miliwundi Conservation Park. We take the opportunity to walk and swim in this magical Kimberley gorge and admire the beauty.

    We return back to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge for a relaxing evening.

    Safari Tent - Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge (B,L,D)

  • Today is all about Horizontal Falls, but not before we continue our journey to the end of the Gibb River Road and Derby. We will do a quick visit to the historic town of Derby and the Boab Prison Tree, before you sore high over the Buccaneer Archipelago and land at Talbot Bay.

    This afternoon’s activities include a boat ride through the Horizontal Falls and up the surrounding creeks, swimming in a shark and croc safe cage, learning about the area, shark feeding or just sit back and relax watching the sunset.

    Talbot Bay – Houseboat (Shared bathroom facilities) (B,L,D)

  • An early start to view the sunrise across Talbot Bay before flying back to Derby Airport. We drive back along the Gibb River Road to Bandilngan (Windjana Gorge) with the Lennard River flowing, keeping a lookout for freshwater crocodiles. This iconic gorge is the last of our Gibb River Road gorges.

    Farewelling the outback and putting the cattle stations behind us, we take the highway back to Broome for our final dinner.
